More Leading Genomax Sires Introduced
As much as possible WestGen introduces new products to the market with the proof updates so that they can be included in our proof sheet materials. That objective falls by the wayside when small quantities of semen from top-ranked – in many cases sires of sons – become available with still several months to go before the next proof day. Sires like Wickham, Flame and Silva have been on the horizon for some time with many customers already asking about them, so naturally we want to make them available as quickly as we can. Here is an update on the three newly released sires.
Silverridge V Wickham
Mogul x Snowman x Planet Eve
Wickham is a maternal brother to the very popular Genomax sire Envious. With an LPI rating just shy of +3400 and with a Type rating of +16 Wickham is expected to transmit exceptional production yields without sacrificing Type or Health. For robot herds take note: he is expected to widen rear teats while leaving the front teats under the quarters. Expect lower pins as well, extreme calving ability, milking speed and milking temperament.
Vieuxsaule Flame
Numero Uno x Freddie x Bolton
Flame is a Numero Uno who ranks extremely well on his US evaluation with a TPI score of +2549. He sires extremes for component deviations, low Somatic cell Score and Longevity. He’s also very strong for Daughter Fertility. While his LPI numbers are not quite as extreme, bringing Freddie in on the maternal side is cause enough to consider using him. Flame is destined for greatness.
Benner Silva
Day x Planet x Shottle
Silva is bred right here is western Canada by Benner Holsteins and Penner Farms of Manitoba. His dam, Ammon-Peachey Shana is a high-value purchase they made in the early days of genomics. Silva is the first of her sons to be admitted to the Genomax listing. Silva’s sire is Minnigan-Hills Day, who is a Superstition son from a Bolton dam. With an LPI of +3175 and a Conformation rating of +18, Silva is expected to sire excellent overall Type improvement alongside high milk yields and strong overall Health improvement. He’s definitely a bull you’ll want to find a way to include in your breeding program!
Talk to your WestGen Rep about reserving some doses for you on these bulls for your upcoming breedings. All three are exceptional sires that merit usage.
