Gator Giveaway


WestGen announced the Gator Giveaway Promotion in late October with a great deal of excitement. It’s the biggest grand prize that the company has ever awarded and so naturally the promotion campaign was enthusiastically embraced by customers across the 4 western provinces.

When customers purchased 20 doses from a select group of our best Proven and Genomax Immunity+ bulls, they were entered into a draw to win 1 of 3 great prizes – a GoPro Video Camera, a $1,500 VISA Gift Card and the grand prize – a 550 John Deere Gator! In a number of cases we have customers that made multiple purchases to increase their odds of winning.

In total 347 ballots were entered into the draw – so in fact the odds of winning were nearly 1 in 100! The promotion was embraced in all 4 provinces with 251 dairy producers that had a chance to win the gator! There were 104 BC customers entered, 80 from Alberta, 21 from Saskatchewan and 46 from Manitoba. There were also 67 customers that have multiple chance to win prizes – the vast majority from BC. Not only Holstein breeders took part. We had both Jersey and Ayrshire producers with entries as well!

This promotion was a great success. It offered great prizes and encouraged producers to use what WestGen confidently promotes as their very best genetic products. It was a win-win for sure. And if you liked this promotion, we’d be pleased to hear your thoughts as we consider whether to run a similar promotion again in 2015.
