Falcon: Immunity+ and so much more!

As high ranking Genomax sires go, Falcon is right up there with the best for LPI. In fact he is listed among the top 15 Holstein young bulls on CDN’s top 100 with the August 2015 evaluations, and among bulls with at least +13 Type, he is in the top 5. Pretty good company he keeps! Add that he has been identified as an Immunity+ sire and he’s a must-use young bull for every WestGen herd.
Progenesis Falcon is a son of an early Numero Uno we had marketed as a Genomax bull named Deductive, who traces to the well-known Windsor-Manor Rudolph Zip. Most notably, Deductive’s dam is a sister to the increasingly popular Semex daughter-proven Milk and Udder specialist, StarGazer. While Deductive is on the top-side of the pedigree, another well-known family is represented on the bottom-side tracing to Markwell BStar Raven EX-95-3E-USA. The latest installment of that female line is OCD Mogul Fuzzy Navel VG-88-2YR-USA, a terrific looking and high transmitting Mogul daughter already with numerous sons slated for AI.

Falcon is one of those rare bulls that not only ranks among the best overall for LPI, but he has that balance of traits that heightens his appeal. He is expected to deliver high volumes of milk and with excellent component percentages and yields. With solid double-digit ratings for Conformation, Mammary System and Feet & Legs, he’s also very easy to use to improve your herd’s overall Type. Rated 113 for Herd Life, he is expected to make long living cows too. While his 104 rating for Calving Ability comes without actual daughters in the evaluation, that is deemed sufficiently high to be considered safe to use immediately on heifers. Add that he carries the Robot Ready designation and is an Immunity+ sire and it is clear Falcon is balanced like few other bulls. He just ticks all the boxes.
Falcon is that young genomic bull we think we will be watching again and again. We’ll have producers pointing out their nice calves in a year’s time. We’ll see a few selected as 4-H calves and remark how correct they are.
