Canadian Rankings:

We now have two official indexes in Canada. The LPI has been revamped to reflect a 40-40-20 weighting on Production-Durability-Health, while a new index, Pro$ places weights on a combination of traits that most accurately predicts realized daughter profit. Expected response rates for individual traits are similar with the two indexes, however there are differences too. Proven Highlights:

Numero Uno – gaining over 250 LPI points this time, he’s our top Proven LPI and Pro$ sire and a sire just about every Canadian dairy producer should go back and use some more. They are great young cows and we think many of them will simply get better and better with age. That his Health trait numbers – especially his Daughter Fertility rating at 112 – are so good makes us confident these are not just high scoring cows, but the kind that will calve again and again. Super Milking Speed and great Milking Temperament help explain further why our customers milking them like them so much.

Meridian – He’s the bull everyone is talking about. The only surprise perhaps is that he isn’t rated higher than 13 for Conformation. After all, he has received endorsements from so many respected breeders who love them. A point from CIAQ’s Carl Saucier is worthy of repeating: “have we ever seen so many super-typed two year-olds from one sire also milking 50 kgs per day?”. Great udders and super footed cows, this bull has been priced so that all our customers can access him.

Afterhours – Just coming back onto production, availability will be a bit limited for a couple of weeks, but after that we anticipate this bull to be a popular addition for customers looking to make hard-working cows that impress the classifier too.

Genomax bulls added:

Between proof rounds we had already begun to offer customers early access to the bulls like Gentle, Cinderdoor, Dodge and Akyol-Red. In addition to that group we have added a couple more exciting Bypass selections: Andre and Aptitude. And although the bulls Byway, Alonzo and Flame are not new, we think our customers will appreciate what this trio offers for Type and with respect to Flame, Health.

Akyol-Red – Brekem x Alchemy – Looking to add a splash of color? Akyol is a red and white bull tracing to world famous brood cow, “Kamps-Hollow Altitude”. Expect Health, Fertility, Production and Components.

Dodge – Diamond x Numero Uno – A top-ranked improver in all areas: Type, Production, and Health traits. +16 for Conformation along with a Pro$ score of $2404 – Dodge daughters will make you money.

Cinderdoor – Doorman x Iota – A high-type Doorman son from the Roxy family, sure to sire the fancy kind. Looking to add a little frame and capacity along with over 1500kgs of milk? Cinderdoor is the answer!

Fitz – Doorman x Snowman – A high-type Doorman son tracing directly back to the world famous Quality BC Frantisco cow ( 2x RAWF Grand Champion )

Andre – Flame x Supersonic – An early Flame son with 3275 LPI, $2335 Pro$, 2540 TPI and +16 for conformation!! Andre daughters will make you money in many different ways.

Aptitude – Davinco x Epic – A bull with a slightly different sire stack. With over 1500 kgs of milk from a +14 mammary system score, he’s among the highest Pro$ bulls at $2489 and a consistent improver on all health traits. Immunity +  and 2552 TPI, this bull begs to be used!

Gentle – Meridian x Beacon – An extreme production improver. Sired by the highly anticipated new release sire Meridian he’s an ideal mating choice for any kind of Goldwyn bloodlines.

Other Additions:

Alonzo – Mascalese x Dempsey – Tops in Canada for Type at +18 this bull is bound to make some great ones. There’s been lost of interest before – now we can supply the market!

Flame – Numero Uno x Freddie – This is one of the must-use Numero Uno sons with an ideal Health trait profile and the coveted Immunity+ designation. So many great sons appearing why not use Flame too!

Byway – Meridian x Atwood – The #1 PTAT bull in the world at +3.85 and from the Barbie family.

Doorman Update:

The bull is healthy again, looks good – and with collections resuming we are hoping small amounts of semen will begin to be allocated to us again as the fall progresses. Daughters are calving, there’s tons of excitement and we have every reason to believe Doorman will take a regular position on our proof sheet again, hopefully by December. At this point however, we have no Doorman semen available to sell.
