Amanda BegaGenetic Advisor - East Fraser Valley
Amanda Maristela Bega, a 33-year-old veterinarian hailing from Brazil, brings a unique and diverse background to our company. Raised in the serene town of Cafeara-PR, Amanda’s early exposure to animal care on her father’s beef farm ignited her lifelong passion for veterinary science.

Her educational journey commenced at the Estate University of Maringa, where she embarked on her dream of working with beef cows. During her university years, Amanda’s aspirations began to take shape, leading her towards the realm of animal reproduction. Graduating in 2017, she ventured further into the field by joining a research group at UNESP as a research assistant. In this pivotal role, Amanda played a vital part in designing and executing trials, gaining invaluable insights into veterinary research and animal reproduction. Her academic and professional journey culminated in a remarkable opportunity – an invitation to the University of British Columbia, Canada, in 2018, under the esteemed mentorship of Professor Ronaldo Cerri. At UBC, Amanda’s focus transitioned to the world of dairy cows, immersing herself in dairy production and reproduction. Her role as a research assistant allowed her to hone her skills, laying the foundation for her subsequent pursuit of a master’s degree. Her time at the University of British Columbia not only expanded her horizons but also deepened her dedication to the welfare of dairy cows.

Matt BrandsmaGenetic Advisor - BC Interior
Matt was born and raised on a dairy farm and has experience with all aspects of dairy farming. He participated in his local 4-H Club on Vancouver Island for 9 years as well as WCC for 6 years and thus knowns some of the Okanagan dairy families he is now serving.

Matt’s experience extends to AI, having been a part of the breeding at Willswikk Holsteins. This role has equipped him with an understanding of genetic and reproductive principles and their practical application. While working on the farm, he concurrently spent several years as a route truck driver for DeLaval on Vancouver Island, managing sales and deliveries. This role not only honed his organizational and logistical skills but also provided him with valuable insights into the industry and how unique each farm is as well as their goals.
